Lenovo has a laptop with a zoomable display. ThinkBook Rollable can expand from 14″ to 16.7″

ThinkBook Plus Gen6 Rollable is a 14″ laptop whose display can be expanded vertically to 16.7″. Either by pressing a button on the keyboard or using a hand gesture. Only then you must not forget to fold the display again before closing the lid.

The original aspect ratio will be roughly doubled from (probably) 16:10, but Lenovo doesn’t specify the exact aspect ratio. The expected price starts at 3,499 dollars, when converted after tax, it will probably reach 100,000 CZK.

Otherwise, it is a relatively classic construction with a thickness of 19.9 mm and a weight of 1.7 kg, which does not deviate too much from ordinary notebooks. The laptop is powered by an Intel Core Ultra series processor, Arc graphics, 32 GB of memory and a 66Wh battery. The OLED display has 120 Hz and a brightness of up to 400 nits.

Whether it will be accepted will depend not only on the price, but also on the simplicity of the mechanism. Lenovo states that the bikes can handle this operation roughly 20,000 times.

Do you like this type of display?

The quest to get a large display into a smaller computer has taken many forms, and IBM once had a laptop with an enlarged keyboard, but that is a long time ago. In any case, laptops with different designs await us, similar to the case with smartphones.
