‘Android Auto will soon also be available on motorcycles’

You have probably been using Android Auto in your car for years, but the system may soon also come to motorcycles. This is evident from recent changes in the Android Auto software.

‘Android Auto is coming to motorcycles’

Google is working behind the scenes on changes to Android Auto. This gives the operating system support for higher resolutions. This is useful if you have a gigantic screen in your car, because then text looks nice and sharp.

The website Android Authority discovered more changes in a new, not yet officially released version of the system. For example, the word ‘car’ has been replaced by ‘vehicles’. This indicates that Google is broadening its horizons. In addition, motorcycle icons have appeared in the Android Auto app. The photo below may soon become reality.

Will you soon be speeding down the road like that?

By the way, it is already technically possible to use Android Auto on your motorcycle. The Spedal company released the NaviCam in 2023. This is a mini computer with a 6.86-inch LCD screen that you can connect wirelessly to your smartphone. The waterproof device can also be operated with your voice.

This way you can use the Google Assistant and probably soon also the newer Gemini Live. We previously read that Google wants to bring this AI model to Android Auto.

There are disadvantages to the NaviCam. For example, wireless updating is not possible. You must first download new software and then install it on the screen via an SD card. If Android Auto receives official support for the motorcycle, everything will become a lot easier.
