Honda presented two new concepts at CES 2025. Honda 0 Saloon and Honda 0 SUV will spawn new electric models for the Japanese manufacturer.
In a world premiere, the Japanese manufacturer presented two new concepts at CES 2025 in Las Vegas. Entitled Honda 0 Saloon and Honda 0 SUV, they will form the basis of the manufacturer’s new electric models – sedan and SUV. The new models will initially be launched in the North American market in 2026, with international availability to follow.
Honda has also released its new car operating system, ASIMO OS, for use on Honda Series 0 models. The use of the ASIMO name pays homage to the beloved Honda ASIMO robot and the ‘smart’ value of Honda’s 0 Series.
In addition, Honda announced an agreement with Renesas Electronics Corporation to develop a high-performance system-on-chip, to be introduced on the next generation of 0 Series models in the late 2020s, as well as a new energy service through Home Energy Management. System that allows customers to enjoy a stress-free electric vehicle ownership experience with low environmental impact.
Honda 0 SUV
This will be the first new-generation all-electric model that Honda plans to launch. Based on the Space-Hub concept model unveiled at CES 2024, the Honda 0 SUV applies the “thin, light and smart” approach to provide a spacious cabin with good visibility and flexibility. The interior of the prototype SUV illustrates the company’s direction to provide new value for its future 0-series electric vehicles as a “space” for people.
The future 0 SUV will use a number of new technologies, and the company says the car will benefit from ultra-personal optimization and a digital interface made possible by ASIMO OS. Furthermore, the adoption of a steer-by-wire system enables integrated control of by-wire devices such as the steering wheel, suspension and brakes, and Honda promises outstanding handling.
Honda 0 Saloon
The Honda 0 Saloon, the flagship model of Honda’s 0 range, further advances the concept model introduced last year at CES 2024 and will feature several next-generation technologies that embody the development approach for this range.
While staying true to the concept’s bold design styling, the prototype features both a low height and a sharp, wedge-shaped design that Honda hopes will differentiate itself in the electric market.
At CES 2025, Honda also unveiled several new technologies that make up the “smart” side of the 0-series vehicles. Among them are self-driving technologies supported by Honda’s Level 3 self-driving technology, as well as “ultra-optimization personal” of the ASIMO operating system that will provide a personalized mobility experience for each individual user.
A production model of the Honda 0 Saloon – built at the Honda EV Hub in Ohio – is scheduled to launch first in the North American market in late 2026, followed by global markets including Japan and Europe.
