CES 2025: XPENG flying car for sale this year

XPENG AEROHT, Asia’s largest flying car manufacturer, has revealed some key details about its Land Aircraft Carrier at CES 2025. The device is a modular flying car with a tilt rotor for high speed and long distances. It fits six people.

The company reports that 3,000 orders have already been placed. The first deliveries are planned for 2026. A type approval and a first public, manned flight have already been completed.

In 2024, the company raised $150 million in a Series B1 funding round and began building the world’s first mass production facility for modular flying cars in Guangzhou, China.

The ‘mothership’ on the ground takes the air module to any desired location. The air module then extends its arms, unfolds the landing gear and is ready for take-off. After landing, the ground module reconnects with the air module, which retracts its arms and stows at the back of the ground module.

The ‘mothership’ is a six-wheeled vehicle that can be driven with a B driving license. The ground module is approximately 5.5 meters long, two meters wide and two meters high. This means it simply fits in a standard parking space or garage.

The air module features six rotors with folding propellers and arms, while the lightweight panoramic cockpit with 270 percent all-round visibility is made of carbon fiber. The air module is powered by an 800V silicon carbide high-voltage system with industry-leading battery energy density and a compact propulsion system for efficient and effortless flight.
