Renewed Porsche 911 Carrera S: above all, more power

In the middle of last year, Porsche lifted the facelifted 911 onto the podium. Completely in keeping with tradition, Porsche launches a new or updated model step by step. And taking steps, they can do that in Stuttgart. The brand previously presented the updated 911 – which is internally called 992.2 – as Carrera, Carrera T, Carrera GTS, 4GTS, GT3 and GT3 Touring. Now Porsche is filling the gap between the Carrera and the Carrera GTS. That can only mean one thing: the updated 911 Carrera S is here. The Porsche 911 Carrera S has, as before, a 3.0 six-cylinder boxer engine. This time it does not produce 450 hp, but 480 hp and 530 Nm. This makes the Carrera S and T 86 hp more powerful than the Carrera, which it is one step above. According to Porsche, the Carrera S is comparable in performance to the Carrera GTS of the pre-facelift 911. What does that mean in practice? Well: the 0-100 sprint takes just 3.3 seconds. Its top speed is 308 km/h. Shifting gears is of course done with Porsche’s Doppelkupplung (PDK).Porsche 911 Carrera S. The updated 911 Carrera S has 21-inch wheels at the rear, 20-inch wheels at the front and has a standard sports exhaust system with silver-colored exhaust tips. In addition, the Carrera S is equipped with Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus, a system that is not available on the S-less Carrera. The braking department has been taken over from the higher positioned GTS. Those who want more sportiness can order carbon-ceramic brakes and the PASM sports suspension. Of course, the updated Porsche 911 Carrera S is available as a Coupé and a Cabriolet. The Carrera S Coupé is a two-seater as standard. Folding rear seats are an option at no extra cost. Are you going for the Cabriolet? Then you do have rear seats as standard. And furthermore? The first copies will be delivered in the spring. The delivery range is not yet complete with this addition, because we expect, among other things, the revised 911 Turbo and Turbo S. The new Porsche 911 Carrera S costs €218,400 as a Coupé and changes owners as a Cabriolet from €235,900.
