Lotte Chilsung Beverage announced on the 8th that it has expanded the ultra-light Isis, which has been sold through online channels such as directly managed mall Chilsung Mall and Coupang, to offline channels such as large supermarkets starting this month.
Ultra-light Isis is a product that Lotte Chilsung Beverage applied nitrogen charging technology to drinking spring water for the first time in Korea in October last year, dramatically lowering the container weight (based on 500 ml) from 11.6 g to 9.4 g. This is a 57% decrease compared to 22g when it was released in 1997. Ultra-light Isis maintains package stability through the internal pressure created when the liquid nitrogen charged inside the product turns into gas, and it is easy to crumple, making it highly convenient for recycling.
Ultra-light Isis has recorded cumulative sales of 1.34 million bottles in just 80 days of launch, receiving a positive response from consumers who value eco-friendly consumption. Lotte Chilsung Beverage introduced that it is making various efforts to innovate eco-friendly technology through lightweighting PET bottles, including the launch of ultra-light Isis.
Currently, nitrogen charging technology is being applied to the ultra-light Isis 500ml product. Lotte Chilsung Beverage plans to expand the application of nitrogen charging technology to Isis 8.0 products this year to reduce plastic and introduce sustainable eco-friendly technology in the bottled water market.
