The names of individual bus stops in Daugavpils will change

The names of the following stops will be changed:

– the bus stop “Uzņēmums DauTKom” (the intersection of Jelgavam and Liela Darza streets) will be renamed “Lielā Dārza iela”;

– the bus stop “Ķīmiskās šķiedras rūpnīca” (the intersection of Višku and Tsialkovska streets) will be renamed “Porohovkas parks”;

– the bus stop “Viestura iela” (intersection of streets 18 Novembra and Viestura) will be renamed “Pilsētas poliklīnika”;

– bus stop “6. pamatskola” (the intersection of Dostoevska and Liela streets) will be renamed “Raiņa centrs”;

– the bus stop “Čiekuru iela (Dzc. slimnīca)” (on Veselibas Street) will be renamed “Veselības iela”;

– the bus stop “Ceļinieku iela” (Liginiškiu street) will be renamed “Grīvas kapi”;

– the bus stop “Autosalons” (on Viškiu street) will be renamed “Slāvu iela”;

– the bus and tram stop “Kultūras un sporta pils” (the intersection of Smilsu and Miera streets) will be renamed “Kultūras pils”.

To implement these changes, Daugavpils satiksme, in cooperation with the Public Utilities Department (since this institution is in charge of several bus stops), has begun preparatory work for the planned name change and updating the relevant information.

Daugavpils satiksme will additionally inform you about the specific date for changing the names of stops for more convenient orientation for both local residents and city guests.

The names of several bus stops will be changed in Daugavpils

SIA “Daugavpils satiksme” announces that on January 8, 2025, an agreement was signed with the municipality of Daugavpils on changing the names of several public transport stops, based on the decision of the meeting of the Transport Commission of the municipality of Daugavpils, in order to organize this area in accordance with the current situation in the city.

The names will be changed for the following stops:

• The bus stop “Uzņēmūs DauTKom” (the intersection of Jelgava and Liela Dārza streets) will be renamed “Lielā Dārza street”;
• The bus stop “Chemical fiber factory” (crossroads of Viškiu and Tialkovska streets) will be renamed “Porohovka park”;
• The bus stop “Viestura iela” (intersection of 18 november and Viestura streets) will be renamed “City polyclinic”;
• Bus stop “6. elementary school” (crossroads of Dostojevska and Lielas streets) will be renamed “Raiņa centrs”;
• The bus stop “Čiekuru iela (Dzc. hospital)” (Veselības iela) will be renamed “Veselības iela”;
• The bus stop “Ceļinieku iela” (Liginišķu iela) will be renamed “Griva kapi”;
• The bus stop “Autosalons” (Višķu Street) will be renamed “Slāvu Street”;
• The bus and tram stops “Kultūras und sporta pils” (crossroads of Smilšu and Miera streets) will be renamed “Kultūras pils”.

In order to carry out these changes, SIA “Daugavpils satiksme” in cooperation with the Daugavpils State Municipal Authority “Communal Management Authority” (as several bus stops are under the control of this authority) has started preparatory work for the planned name change and the updating of related information.

SIA “Daugavpils satiksme” will additionally inform about a specific date when the names of the bus stops will be changed in order to ensure more convenient orientation for both local residents and city guests.
