Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda accused Russia of “rewriting” history due to the renaming of the Christionas Donelaitis Museum in the village of Chistye Prudy, Kaliningrad Region, to the Literary Museum.
“Russia’s decision to rename the museum dedicated to the classic of Lithuanian literature Kristionas Donelaitis is another unacceptable attempt to rewrite history,” the politician wrote on the social network X.
Earlier, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova reported that Moscow had filed pre-trial claims against Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia in connection with anti-Russian discrimination.
The new Minister of Culture of Lithuania, Sarunas Birutis, in turn, condemned attempts to abolish Russian culture in the republic.
