The US dollar billionaire made such a move that a 150-person EU team is watching his every move

It will be investigated by a team of around 150 experts from the European Commissionwhether Musk’s social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) complies with EU technology rules. Officials in Brussels and Seville pay particular attention to the fact that whether X’s algorithm gives Weidel’s party an unfair campaign advantage over rivals.

The team has broad investigative powers, allowing them to visit X’s offices and request access to the algorithm and internal correspondence.

The investigation is related to the European Union’s Digital Services Act (DSA), which obliges platforms to remove illegal content and act against disinformation. The EU has already brought charges against Musk’s platform, and if new evidence is found on Thursday, the first judgment could be handed down against a digital platform.

At the same time, Politico emphasizes: fining X would probably start a diplomatic war with the incoming US administration of Donald Trump.

Thus, ultimately, the decision on action can be taken at the political level, within the Commission.

Fines can reach up to 6 percent of global annual revenueand regulators can call on offending companies to take action to fix the problems.
