Former Vice President of Khulna Metropolitan Awami Volunteer League and former Ward No. 4 of City Corporation Councilor Golam Rabbani Tipu was shot dead in the head at Cox’s Bazar beach by two men.
Thursday night The incident took place in front of Hotel Sea-Gal in the city’s beach area around 9 am. After being shot, passers-by rescued him and took him to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital where the doctor on duty declared him dead.

A mixed driver who rescued him and took him to the hospital said that he was coming in front of Hotel C-Gal on the beach side road. Suddenly he heard a gunshot in front of him and saw Golam Rabbani fall to the ground. When people gathered immediately, with their help, Golam Rabbani, who was shot in the head, was rescued and taken to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital.
SM Shoaib, the doctor on duty at Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital, said that the victim was shot in the front-left side of the head and the bullet went through the head and exited along the right ear. It caused major injuries. It was found that he had died before being brought to the hospital.

Ilyach Khan said, we initially found out that the deceased Golar Rabbani Tipu was a senior leader of Awami League and a former ward councilor of Khulna. He was on the run from the area since the August 5 uprising. It could not be ascertained whether anyone else was with him or not. The police have surrounded the entire city to catch the killers.
