Big drop in Audi A8 sales

And Audi A8 sales in the US continue to decline, with deliveries of the luxury sedan in that market falling 28 percent in 2024 to just 1,628 units.

The A8 is no exception, however, as 2024 was a generally bad year for luxury sedans. Sales of the Mercedes S-Class in America are also down, down 25% compared to 2023. Only 8,809 units were sold, but that’s still more than five times more than the aging Audi A8.

It should be mentioned here that the Lexus LS also surpassed the A8, since Americans bought 2,163 units in 2024 (down 3.2% compared to the previous year). Genesis has yet to release sales numbers for the G90.

On the other hand, sales of the BMW 7 Series remained almost flat. More precisely, BMW had 10,714 delivered “weeks” in the US last year, which is a drop of only 0.9 percent. However, it should be said here that BMW combines the sale of the 7 Series with the sale of the fully electric i7.

Mercedes lists the EQS separately because it’s a completely different car. However, it too had an extremely weak 2024, as its US deliveries fell 52% to 6,963 vehicles. It suffered the second largest percentage drop of any Mercedes model. Only the SL convertible had an even worse year, falling 56%.
