Curfew will be relaxed in Dhaka, Gazipur, Narayanganj and Narsingdi districts from 7 am to 6 pm on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
The Home Minister said this at a press conference after a meeting with senior officials of the law and order enforcement forces at his residence in Dhanmondi of the capital on Saturday night.
The Home Minister said, “As the situation is gradually improving, the law and order situation is improving. For that, we want to relax the curfew that we have going on.”
He said that the curfew will be relaxed for three days from 7 am to 6 pm in Dhaka city and Dhaka district, Gazipur city and Gazipur district, Narayanganj and Narsingdi districts. In other districts, the concerned Deputy Commissioner will take the decision in coordination with the law enforcement agencies.
In the press conference, the Home Minister said, “Despite the decision of the Supreme Court, why this brutality in the name of quota, this is the question of the nation. Who will take responsibility? The responsibility for this must be taken by those who called for the movement, and those who took the movement in a different direction. Students brothers who have not yet withdrawn the agitation, I request them to withdraw (the agitation). If they do not withdraw, this liability cannot be avoided.”
