Grok, which was until now only available in the X application, has now been released as a standalone application for users in the USA. Last month, X made Grok AI available to free users. Previously, AI was only accessible to X users with a Premium subscription. Now, with some limitations, free users can now benefit from Grok artificial intelligence. Now users can use the Grok app App Store It can be downloaded to devices via and used independently of the X application.
Key features include access to the latest Grok 2 model, rendering, real-time information, conversational tone, typing assistance, weather and restaurant cards, privacy-focused printing, and a lock screen toolbox.
Grok has quickly become one of the best AI generative chatbots, and in addition to generating images, it can also provide more casual, humorous, and, most importantly, up-to-date responses. After its launch in 2023, Grok received multiple upgrades. Its limited availability as part of the X app or website was a significant barrier to wider adoption. To use Grok, users had to have an X account and access it through X’s app or website. The launch of the standalone app addresses this issue.
The Grok app is now available in the US, Australia and India. However, only iOS users can download the app from the App Store, and there is no information about an Android version or global availability. The Grok app is currently in beta and has been released for US users for now.
