Elonga bracelet review: 3 minutes and you know what you need

Fitness bracelets are among the popular devices for active users who want to monitor their daily activity and health. Elonga is a newcomer to the market, originally from the Czech Republic, but it promises a wide range of functions. The main goal of this accessory is to provide users with information about recovery, stress level and overall readiness for physical activity. We tested it for a whole month and this is the review of the unconventional Elonga bracelet.

At the outset, we can note that Elonga cannot be compared to advanced smart watches in any way. These offer many more functions, connection with a smartphone for notifications and monitor physical activity during the day and also record sleep. Elonga is more like their supplement, whose task is mainly to inform the user what kind of load is appropriate on a particular day and what level of regeneration his body has reached.

3 minutes a day is enough

While a smart watch is recommended to be worn 24 hours a day for the best results, a 3-minute measurement right after waking up in the morning is enough for the Elonga bracelet. It is therefore important to include measurement in your early routine. This is when the most accurate results are achieved. While you get used to it, you might forget to use it for a few days. Just like me.

Elonga has a simple and functional design without a display. The bracelet is light and comfortable, with an elastic Velcro strap that allows it to be adjusted to different forearm sizes. It is worn on the inside of the forearm during measurement, not on the wrist like a watch. It ensures more accurate results.

Elonga Bracelet Review: Features a measurements

Elonga measures heart rate and heart rate variability (HRV) using an optical sensor. Some competing smart watch models can also measure HRV, but Elonga claims that its measurement is more accurate.

Bracelet uses optical sensor technology for measurement heart rate (HR) a heart rate variability (HRV). This technology works on the principle of photoplethysmography (PPG)which monitors changes in the volume of blood flowing through blood vessels using light rays and their reflections.

Measurement with a fitness bracelet Victory it takes place easily and quickly, it usually lasts three minutes. After waking up, you put the bracelet on your forearm and start the measurement. The first four days are measurements to get to know your organism and you will not receive any recommendations yet. Later, you can have a plan generated, which will be compiled precisely on the basis of the obtained data.

HRV expert

The bracelet monitors intervals between heartbeats (HRV) with an accuracy of one thousandth of a second and analyzes more 60 HRV parameters. The data is automatically synchronized with the mobile application, where it is evaluated using HRV spectral analysis.

When you first set up your profile in the mobile application, you fill in basic information about yourself and choose your favorite from a range of sports activities, divided into medium and higher loads. The sports you choose will be taken into account for the creation of the weekly schedule.

Elonga Bracelet Review: Mobile App

If you use the Google Fit (android) or Apple Health (iOS) mobile application on your smartphone, I recommend connecting them to the Elonga app. The measured data during the day will be synchronized between them.

After starting the search from the app, you must have Bluetooth and internet connection enabled on your phone, the bracelet should automatically connect to the app. If it doesn’t find your device after multiple attempts, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app. I had a problem with the first connection, it worked on the second attempt.

How is the measurement done?

Elonga During the measurement, it is recommended to lie still, on your back, do not forget to place the sensor correctly, on the inside of the forearm, closer to the elbow socket. Turn on the bracelet by pressing the inconspicuous button on its top (the blue LED starts flashing) and start the measurement. It usually takes three minutes, Elonga needs to record 150 beats of your heart and does not always detect every beat, so the measurement can sometimes be extended or even canceled altogether.

A successful measurement is accompanied by a gentle clicking sound. The problem is that nothing informs you about a failed measurement. No vibration or sound, I consider this to be one of the main negatives of the device. You won’t know that something is wrong until you look at the phone’s display.

If the measurement was carried out correctly, the application will immediately show you a record with measurement data, the number of points achieved and recommendations regarding the activity. You will find all the records clearly arranged and you can view them by individual days, but also for the whole week, month or year. You can see the entire history and trends.

The package includes a charging cable that is attached to the bracelet with a pair of magnetic pins located on the bottom of the device. During the entire period of use, which is a month, I did not have to charge the bracelet even once. It didn’t drain and I don’t even have the ability to check the battery capacity level. No indicator has been incorporated by the manufacturer, which I consider a disadvantage.

Elonga Bracelet Review: Price and Availability

On the Slovak market, Elonga is sold at official website for 75 eur. It is only available in black. The manufacturer guarantees a refund within 30 days of purchase in case of dissatisfaction. The basic version of the mobile application is free for life, after purchase you get two months of the paid version for free trial.

Conclusion

We recommend the bracelet to less demanding users who are looking for an affordable way to monitor their activity. Advanced athletes or those who need accurate health data should consider other devices with advanced features. We praise the clear application and ease of use. We have complaints about the impossibility of repeating the measurement during the day, the missing battery capacity indicator, and the absence of a warning about an erroneous measurement. But if you are looking for a simple wristband for movement motivation and basic health monitoring, Elonga may suit you.

Competition

It is difficult to find competition for the Elonga bracelet. There are devices on the market that offer similar features to the Elonga wristband, especially in the area of heart rate variability (HRV) and health monitoring. Such devices include, for example, smart watches and fitness bracelets from brands such as Garmin, Fitbit whether Applewhich can continuously monitor HRV, stress level, sleep quality and other health metrics.

Nevertheless, Elonga is distinguished by its specific approach. It focuses on a short, three-minute HRV measurement right after waking up, providing personalized recommendations based on the user’s current state. This approach allows for accurate assessment without the need to continuously wear the device throughout the day. Therefore, although there are competing products with similar functions, Elonga offers a unique measurement and analysis methodology that sets it apart from other devices on the market.
