EIZO has just introduced the FlexScan FLT. This is currently the most energy-efficient monitor in the world. The FLT is a lightweight 23.8-inch monitor with Full HD resolution (1,920 x 1,080 pixels) designed specifically for business users.

In 2023, EIZO accelerated its efforts to achieve carbon neutrality across the entire value chain by 2040. These efforts are under the banner of the “Transition to Net Zero” sustainability strategy, which takes concrete form through the FLT (Future-Leading Technology).

With a typical power consumption of just 6 watts, the FLT is the most energy efficient monitor in the world. It is the first monitor to meet the strict requirements of efficiency class A, the highest level of EU energy consumption labeling. In addition, at the same time as the release, the FLT received TCO certification according to the current TCO Certified Generation 10. When registered with EPEAT, the FLT also achieved the highest level EPEAT Gold and the EPEAT Climate+ award. In this way, EIZO underlines its commitment to sustainability and supply chain management.

Strong focus on sustainability

The FLT’s housing was developed in an environmentally conscious manner and consists of 95% recycled plastic. The monitor’s packaging and transport padding are also made from recycled materials. By reducing the packaging size by approximately 42% compared to a previous 23.8-inch model, charging efficiency is increased by 1.5 times. Reducing packaging also allows greenhouse gas emissions from transportation to be reduced by up to 42%.

Additionally, enterprise customers can opt for bulk packaging, where multiple FLT monitors are packaged in a single box to reduce overall waste and significantly shorten unpacking and installation time.
From sourcing and manufacturing to shipping and use, greenhouse gas emissions over the FLT’s entire product life cycle have been reduced by approximately 32% compared to a previous 23.8-inch monitor.

Geared towards the modern working world

The FLT uses USB-C ports to connect a laptop with a single cable that carries both video and USB signals and provides up to 60 watts of power. The FLT is also the first monitor from EIZO that can draw its power from external devices via USB-C and then even does not require its own power supply.
For added convenience, the FLT’s Auto EcoView feature automatically adjusts the brightness of the screen based on changes in ambient lighting. The EcoView Optimizer feature automatically adjusts the brightness to match the content being displayed. Together, these technologies improve visual comfort and also reduce power consumption.
The FLT’s on-screen menu also allows users to monitor the power consumption of connected devices, including the PC, to further promote environmental awareness. The power consumption can optionally be permanently displayed on the edge of the screen.

Future-oriented design

The FLT shows EIZO’s vision for the next generation of FlexScan monitors. With a weight of just 2.4 kg and a slim frame thickness of just 24.4 mm, the monitor fits unobtrusively into any office environment. Its design with a distinctive casing surround ensures a frameless appearance with a modern, forward-looking aesthetic.
The monitor is attached to a special arm that makes the FLT appear to float and thus allows particularly flexible positioning of the screen. An integrated clamp allows for effortless attachment and removal using a twist mechanism.
