Social networks are flooded with advertisements offering AI services to create very realistic video clips of real people kissing, remarque Futurism. Most of these sites base their marketing strategy on encouraging users to easily generate videos where they kiss a former partner or an unattainable crush: simply upload a photo of the second person. And to create these deepfakes with intimate scenarios, consent is not necessary.
These tools are accessible via web browsers and mobile applications, compatible with Android and iOS. And “the vast majority of them are listed as safe for adolescents”underlines the media. As an example, the Fotorama service is listed as a “kiss and hug video generator”accessible from 4 years old. While some apps downplay the importance of AI-generated kisses, others are much more explicit about their function.
Between fantasy and illegal excesses
YouCam says its kissing video generator can be used to bring a user’s dream of sharing a kiss with their favorite celebrity to life. “The possibilities are endless!”continues the description of its official website. AIKiss.AI, meanwhile, boasts that its “advanced algorithms create realistic and captivating kissing videos that look incredibly natural”. See for yourself:

This trend is part of a broader phenomenon: that of fake pornography and the generation of nude images through applications like Nudify. Futurism recalls that this tool had given rise to a wave of cases involving middle and high school students who used the application to create naked images of their classmates.
Generative AI can also be used by adult predators to create images of child sexual abuse. Watchdog groups, such as the Internet Watch Foundation (a UK-based non-profit organization dedicated to combating the spread of illegal content on the internet), have noted a sharp increase “images of sexual abuse of minors generated by AI on the web”. It is important to remember that generating and sharing such images, from kissing to non-consensual sexual intercourse, can give rise to legal action.
