Free for budgeters on election weekend

May 2nd will be free for the staff in the budget system if a draft decision will be adopted that is on the agenda of the government meeting on Friday.

The decision is taken considering that May 2 is between a non-working day of a legal holiday (May 1) and the end of the week, states the explanatory note, writes Agerpres.

In order to recover this working day, public institutions and authorities will extend their working hours until May 31, according to the plans established by administrative acts issued at the level of each public authority and institution. These provisions do not apply in workplaces where the activity cannot be interrupted due to the nature of the production process or the specifics of the activity, the draft states. Likewise, the provisions do not apply to magistrates and other categories of personnel from the courts involved in the settlement of trials with a deadline of May 2, 2025, nor to participants in these trials.

The governing parties have signaled that they have also agreed on the dates of the two voting rounds of the presidential elections, on May 4 and 18, 2025 respectively.
