They plan to make souvenirs, birdhouses and hockey sticks from the main New Year tree in Russia after dismantling it.
This was reported RIA Novosti in the press service of the Russian Presidential Administration.
It is specified that the trunk and branches of the tree after dismantling will be sent to the workshop – the tree will find a second life through various souvenirs made from it.
“Commemorative clocks with tree cuts serving as a dial, birdhouses and bird feeders for feeding birds in cold weather, as well as hockey sticks,” the press service said.
It is reported that the branches and needles will traditionally be given to zoos.
Also, as part of the “Children of the Kremlin Christmas tree” campaign, thousands of germinated seeds will be planted throughout Russia.
The country’s main New Year tree was brought from the village of Znamenka. The age of the tree is 90 years.
