Eliza and Henrietta Huszti have slim bodies and long, brown hair. Before disappearing, they crossed a bridge and then turned onto a footpath.
Police Scotland said they were conducting an extensive investigation and search to find the brothers, using police dogs and marine units.
So far, there is no indication that it was a suspicious incident.
Police say the area where they were last seen is home to a number of businesses and businesses, and have asked businesses there to review security camera footage.
