The mayor reminded that Ravne has been waiting for a long time for the start of the reconstruction of the state road to Dravograd. The public order for the selection of the construction contractor was announced by the infrastructure directorate on February 23 last year, but the start of the works was delayed, among other things, by complaints.

The municipality has no influence on this, because it is a state project, but regardless, strangers recently placed a sign “Thomas Tower”, similar to the Aljaž tower on the top of Triglav, with which they would like to draw attention to the long-term procedures related to the reconstruction of the road.

Rozen expects the work to begin, the decision on the choice of the contractor is not yet known

In addition, according to the mayor Tomaž Rožen other protests are also announced among the citizens. “I reckon that construction work will still start in January, because the money is guaranteed on the state side.” said the mayor.

But the decision on the selection of the contractor has not yet been issued, the infrastructure directorate explained to STA today. “We are still waiting for the water approval from the Directorate for Water.” they added.

With the tender, which was published almost a year ago, the directorate is looking for a contractor for the reconstruction of the road in the length of three kilometers from the direction of Raven to Dravograd. On the rest of the section, the cycling route will run outside the road area along the existing route. The deadline for carrying out the construction works is 15 months after the contractor is put into work, the directorate explained.

In the future, the reconstruction of a further 3.5 kilometers of the national road towards Dravograd is planned.

Last year was successful for Ravne

At today’s New Year’s reception in Kotlje, Mayor Rožen described the past year as successful, but at the same time as demanding and turbulent, mainly because of the demanding post-flood rehabilitation. “We didn’t just restore the original state, but we made the infrastructure to withstand future storms as well,” said the mayor.

In addition to the restoration of roads and rehabilitation of landslides, the rehabilitation of the water supply system and the construction of a new cultural center are also part of the flood rehabilitation, after the old cultural center building was demolished last year due to the consequences of the floods. And these two investments are the largest financial investments this year.

According to the mayor, the municipal budget for this year is planned in the amount of around 85 million euros, of which around 60 million euros will be investments. “The budget is of course a spending plan, there will certainly be obstacles that will contribute to the fact that we will not be able to fully implement it. But we’ve started ambitiously and hope to do as much as possible.” added the mayor.
