Two major players in the domestic IT market are merging, creating the largest Hungarian-owned distributor specializing in IT security, network infrastructure and IT operation. Founded in 2007, biztributor acquires the long-established data transmission wholesaler, AccesPoint, after which AccessPoint continues its activities as a 100% subsidiary of biztributor in the merged group of companies while retaining the brand name.
The biztributor has set a medium-term goal of reaching HUF 10 billion in sales by the end of 2026, which the planned foreign expansion can also help to achieve. “For further growth, we are planning to enter new countries and business areas, also exploring the possibility of new acquisitions,” writes Dániel Nemes, president of the group, in the announcement. In 2022-23, they stagnated with revenues of roughly HUF 2 billion.
Nemes explained in the interview that the undisclosed purpose of the acquisition was to take advantage of synergies: biztributor is in software and network security, AccessPoint is in computer network and telecommunications sales.
