Motorists in St. Petersburg were warned about traffic restrictions on the southern section of the Western High-Speed Diameter in January. The two sections will be completely blocked.
Restrictions on the WHSD are related to the modernization of traffic control systems, the press service of the Northern Capital Highway company reported.
Thus, traffic in the area of the interchange from the Ekateringofka River embankment to the interchange with Blagodatnaya Street in the southern direction will be closed three times this month – from 23:00 on January 11 to 06:00 on January 12, from 23:00 on January 12 to 06:00 on January 13 and from 23:00 on January 13 to 06:00 on January 14.
Motorists were asked to bypass the closed area using the exit to the embankment of the Ekateringofka River and the road to the adjacent entrance from Blagodatnaya Street towards the Ring Road South sign.
Overlappings are also planned in the area of the interchange with Blagodatnaya Street in the northern direction. Vehicles will not be able to pass there from 23:00 January 15 to 06:00 January 16, from 23:00 January 16 to 06:00 January 17 and from 23:00 January 18 to 06:00 January 19. To detour, drivers were advised to exit onto Blagodatnaya Street, turn around and drive to the Blagodatnaya Street exit towards the “Ring Road North” sign.
St. Petersburg residents were urged to be understanding of the planned restrictions on the WHSD, taking into account the fact that they are scheduled for hours with minimal traffic load.
Earlier it was reported about road restrictions in three districts of the Northern capital from January 12 and 13.
