Earlier, sanctions against Gazpromneft and Surgutneftegaz were imposed by the US Treasury, explaining the measures as a fight against the “shadow fleet” – international ships that transport Russian oil products to non-Western countries.
Other companies and individuals associated with the oil industry also fell under American restrictions, including Rosneft’s subsidiary Rosnefteflot and Tatneft CEO Nail Maganov.
