REPRESENTATIVES of the Serbian List visited the Health Center in Gnjilane today, and the president of the party, Zlatan Elek, pointed out that the health institutions, which function in the Serbian system, are the pillars of the survival of the Serbs in Kosovo. He announced new employment in health care.
Elek visited the maternity hospital in Pasjan, which is part of ZC Gnjilan, where he pointed out that this maternity hospital is one of the most vital parts of that health center.

He reminded that the maternity hospital was opened in 2015 by the then prime minister of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, and that in almost a decade, as many as 1,195 babies were born there.
He pointed out that every year there is a trend of increasing the number of births in Pasjan – 134 babies were born last year, and 126 babies in 2023.
– This year started like no other so far, six babies were born, three boys and three girls. I hope that this year the number of births will be much higher, and that’s why I want a lot of work for the maternity hospital in Pasjan, and for other departments to work less, so that our people are healthy – said Elek.
He added that a scanner, which was obtained from the “Sveti Sava” hospital, also functions within the Gnjilane Health Center.
He noted that the health care facility in Gnjilan provides services for around 37,000 insured persons, not only Serbs, but also Albanians, Roma, Goranians, all who need them, regardless of nationality, religion or skin color.
– We must not lose sight of the fact that the health institutions that function in the Serbian system are a pillar of the survival of the Serbian people in this area – said Elek.
He pointed out that their importance is best illustrated by the fact that in the previous four years, Serbia provided 1,500 jobs for health workers in Kosovo, in institutions in the Serbian system.
– There will be new employment, here in Gjilan as well. With new employment, we will keep our people at the hearths, provide them with normal working conditions. This is the policy of the Serbian List, which shows it on the ground. Actions stand behind us, not words. I believe that by providing even better health care, we will provide better conditions for people’s lives and provide resistance to those who want to drive us away from these areas – said Elek.
He is familiar with the problem that Serbs from mountain villages have when the weather conditions are bad in order to reach a doctor, and he says that the Serbian List will, as before, try to make people’s lives easier and solve problems.
– For sure, in the Kosovo parliament, as before, we will most energetically represent the interests of the Serbs and try to meet the demands, to solve the problems of ordinary people, to fulfill everything in our power – said Elek.
He added that there is no doctor without a job in the entire Kosovo Pomoravlje.
– In Kosovska Mitrovica, whose Clinical and Hospital Center serves a huge number of people, there are no unemployed doctors on the records of the national service. This is proof of how much Serbia thinks about the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija – said Elek.
Director of the Gnjilane Health Center, Violeta Trajković, explained that there are mobile teams, made up of doctors and nurses, who visit the villages of Novi Brda once a week, in order to help the population living there.
She pointed out that all children from mountain villages are vaccinated.
During his visit to the maternity hospital in Pasjan, Elek presented three mothers, who had given birth to three babies in the previous days.
