At CES, Asus presented six new gaming notebook models with Nvidia RTX 50 graphics, high-quality screens with 100% DCI-P3 and the option of easy disk replacement.

At CES 2025, Asus presented six new notebooks powered by Nvidia RTX 50 graphics. The models offer high-quality displays, high performance, but perhaps a new function that allows you to replace the SSD drive yourself in a flash.

Strix Scar 16 a 18

The Strix Scar 16 and 18 models are the top of this year’s new laptops. Both offer powerful Intel Core Ultra 9 285HX processors with Nvidia RTX 5090 graphics. You can choose between a 16-inch and an 18-inch mini LED display with a 240 Hz refresh rate and 100% DCI-P3 coverage. It also offers support for two PCIe 5.0 SSD drives, which makes the drives not only fast, but also easy to replace. In addition, the notebook is also silent, triple fan for cooling and liquid metal instead of cooling paste keeps the cooling noise below 45 dB.

Strix G16 a G18

The Strix G series stretchers are more affordable with weaker components. They will come to the market in configurations with both Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX and AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX3D chips. With AMD chips, you can have a version with a maximum of RTX 5070 Ti, the version with Intel has the highest configuration up to RTX 5080. Both variants have a quality QHD Mini LED display with a diagonal of 16 or 18 inches and a refresh rate of 240 Hz. With Intel, you can have up to 2 TB SSD disk and 64 GB RAM, the AMD version has half the capacity, i.e. 32 GB RAM and 1 TB SSD. Looks to me like someone here paid extra to push his chips…

Zephyrus G14 a G16

Powerful gaming ultrabooks are then represented by the Zephyrus G14 and G16 pairs. The G14 model is powered by a Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 chip and up to an RTX 5080, the G16 is equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 9 285H processor and can be configured with the flagship RTX 5090. Both have high-quality OLED displays with a high resolution and 240 Hz refresh rate and a large 90 Wh flashlight. They are also very thin with a thickness of only 1.8 cm.

Asus plans to launch all models during the first quarter of 2024. Exact prices have not yet been announced.
