On the occasion of the 2025 Brussels Motor Show, the Chinese manufacturer is providing more information on the BYD Atto 2, its new urban SUV for Europe.
The Brussels 2025 show is an opportunity to discover the new Atto 2 WORLDalso known in China as BYD Yuan Up, on the occasion of its European launch.
BYD’s new urban SUV
Long de 4.31 meters1.83 meters wide and 1.68 meters high, or 145 mm less in length and 45 mm less in width than the Atto 3, all on 2.62 meters of wheelbase, the new BYD Atto 2 is an urban compact SUV with a modern and muscular style. It is distinguished by its assertive lines, its plastic protections in the lower part of the bodywork, its flush door handles, or its LED headlights linked together at the front by a black strip, and at the rear by a red luminous edging, highlighting its luminous signature in the shape of a Chinese knot symbolizing the sign of infinity.
The interior is also very refined, and offers generous space for its occupants. There we find a large touch screen placed in the center of the dashboard, complementing the digital instrument cluster placed behind the steering wheel. The central console includes storage, an armrest, two cup holders, as well as a control area equipped with function keys and a gearbox selector, with a sophisticated design. On the trunk side, the Atto 2 displays a volume of 400 litreswhich can be expanded to 1,340 liters once the rear seat is folded.
BYD Atto 2: 312 km of autonomy at launch
Technically, the Atto 2 is based on BYD’s e-Platform 3.0, which allows it to offer a completely flat floor. It has an LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) blade battery integrated into its chassis, which will be available in two capacity levels. At launch, the standard BYD Atto 2 will be equipped with a battery with a rated capacity of 45,1 kWhoffering autonomy of 312 kilometers according to the WLTP combined cycle. Mounted at the front, its electric motor develops a power of 177 horsepower (130 kW).
In the coming months, the Atto 2 range will subsequently be supplemented by the arrival of other versions, notably including a larger battery for more autonomy. As with the brand’s other models, the Blade blade battery stands out for its high level of safety, which helps prevent thermal runaway, and therefore a potential fire, during a serious road accident. More technical information will be communicated by BYD in the coming weeks, and the BYD Atto 2 will be available to order from February 2025: its prices will also be revealed on this occasion.
In the meantime, the BYD Atto 2 can be discovered at the Brussels show, which opens its doors until January 19, 2025 at Brussels Expo.
