Zorarganj police arrested a person named Mohammad Hanif Prakash Sohag (35) with 74 bottles of Phencidil in Mirsrai. During this time two CNGs carrying Phencidyl were seized.
OC ATM Shifatul Mazdar confirmed the matter on Sunday (January 12) afternoon. Earlier, he was arrested from Karharhat No. 1 of the upazila on Saturday night.
The arrested Sohag is the son of Mohammad Bahar of Mandiya area of Shubopur Union of Chagalnaya Upazila.
According to the police, when the CNG autorickshaw was loaded with phensidyl, the 2 drivers of the CNG autorickshaw carrying the drug tried to stop the car and fled when the two drivers of the CNG autorickshaw tried to run away while the police team arrested one, the other escaped.
Zorarganj police station officer in-charge (OC) ATM Shifatul Mazdar said that a police team conducted an operation after getting to know about drug trafficking based on confidential information. One was arrested but the other ran away. A case has been filed against the detained accused under Narcotics Control Act and sent to Chittagong Court.
