CES 2025: Asus’ new RTX 50 graphics are headed by the new Astral series

Asus presented new graphics cards with Nvidia RTX 50 chips at the CES fair. The current ROG Strix, TUF and Prime series were supplemented this year by the new ROG Astral series with flagship graphics models.

Nvidia showed new RTX 50 series graphics at CES 2025. Asus showed its versions of graphics cards with these chips at the fair. The new cards will fit into the already well-known ROG Strix and TUF series, but this year the flagship models will also be found under the new ROG Astral brand. The new RTX 5090 and 5080 models of the Astral series impress with their robust design, four-fan cooling and active RGB backlighting.

For really demanding users, there is a special variant of ROG Astral LC cards with liquid cooling. This version is equipped with a 360 mm radiator, a full-cover cooling plate for the graphics chip and memory and 80 amp MOSFETs. The Astral series most likely replaced the ROG Matrix series, which was not presented this year.

This year, the ROG Strix series only has the RTX 5070 Ti and 5070 models. The cards have cooling from three fans, better cooling and RGB backlighting. The most widespread is the TUF Gaming series, in which we can find cards with all the presented graphics chips, i.e. RTX 5090, 5080, 5070 Ti and 5070.

And finally, the Prime series targets a wider group of users and bets on a simpler but effective design with three fans and a 2.5-slot design. The RTX 5080 model also includes a vapor chamber for better cooling. Asus has not yet confirmed how much it will charge for the new graphics. However, we know from the Nvidia conference that the RTX 5080 and 5090 flagship models will be the first to hit the market in January. The RTX 5070 models will only hit the market in February.
