He avoided the standing line and was slapped by the train

As the saying goes, patience pays off, but the driver of a Toyota Prius in the United States didn’t believe that. Thinking that his time was more valuable than everyone else’s, he pulled himself together, overtook the stationary line of cars, whistled at the barrier and all the traffic lights. The master plan was almost complete, but life, or more precisely, the train, intervened – and the result was a huge crash in the crossing in North Miami Beach, Florida.

The assembly belonging to the Brightline company practically flattened the back of the Toyota. Although exact information has not been published, referring to local reports, it was written by a Carscoopsthat the train may have been traveling at a speed of 127 km/h at the time of the collision, causing the car to hit one of the opposite traffic lights. Despite the huge accident, the driver of the car was not seriously injured, in fact, he fell out of the wreckage on his own feet – the ambulances that arrived at the scene took him to the local trauma center.

Just like in Hungary, accidents at railroad crossings are common in the United States: more than 2,000 accidents and 200 deaths are recorded every year. A few weeks ago, an unusual accident was also recorded, the protagonist of which was a police car left in the crossing – we reported the details here:

In connection with the current case, the railway company called the attention of motorists to comply with the rules. “For the safety of all of us, it’s important that you never avoid lowered barriers,” wrote Brightline on the X side. “These safety measures serve to protect everyone, ignoring them can have serious consequences. Everyone stay alert and follow the rules!”
