Google Drive has received a small but important update –

If your favorite cloud storage is Google, you’ll love this.

If you rely on Google services in your everyday life, then Google Drive can be one of the most important elements of your digital toolkit. We can upload large amounts of data to the cloud with a few clicks from both desktop devices and mobile phones, and our phones synchronize our data with our online storage without being noticed. However, this comes at a price, which can be measured in terms of time and gigabytes.

Google has now introduced a new solution that saves on both. Thanks to the differentiated upload structure, the system will from now on upload only the data that is actually new, and it will not replace the files, it will only update them with the differences of our new version. This will significantly reduce upload time, which will be a big boon in a work environment. The differentiated solution already works within Google Workspace and the desktop application, but we have to wait a little longer for the mobile version.

We, the users, have nothing to do: the server side does everything for us, so we just have to enjoy the achievements of more efficient data storage.
