DAPURPACUID – Fadillah Arbi Aditama ended his three years of work in Europe, by closing the 2024 FIM JuniorGP season at the Estoril Circuit, Portugal.
This young Astra Honda Racing Team (AHRT) young racer has demonstrated solid performance throughout his participation since 2022 in this racing event.
Estoril is the final series of the 2024 JuniorGP season and also marks the end of Arbi’s journey with the Junior Talent Team over the last three seasons.
This racer, born in Purworejo, Central Java, closed the season with a total of 10 points and was ranked 24th in the final standings.
The racer with motorbike number #93 has improved over three seasons in all respects. Including being the first Indonesian racer to win the JuniorGP event.
Not only that, Arbi also participated in several WildCard events at the world championships and achieved other good results. Now Arbi returns to Indonesia to face new challenges.
The following are the results of an interview with Arbi after he ended his racing season with the Junior Talent Team for the last three seasons, as reported on the Wahana Honda website.
In an interview at the end of the season last year, you said that you were determined to break through to the world racing arena. This season he will also have the opportunity to take part in three World Championship Grands Prix, more than any other novice racer. What was your experience like and what do you think about the past year?
Those three wildcards were the best experience I’ve ever had. Even though I haven’t been able to achieve good results, and because of those not so good results, I haven’t been able to go to the World Championship next year, but I still believe that one day I can achieve that dream.
Not next year, but I’ll still fight someday. I hope to make it happen.
How do you rate the 2024 season?
I think 2024 will be a challenging year for me to go through. However, from the journey I have been on, the 2024 season will be a valuable year. Because, from the many obstacles or challenges I faced, I learned many valuable lessons.
If you had to choose the best moment of the 2024 season, what would it be? And the hardest?
For me, the best is Mandalika Wildcard, and the most difficult is Montmelo JuniorGP. Because this is the first race after I took a long break due to an arm injury.
Usually, the longer you are in a place, the more experience and adaptation you gain. In your case, an injury at the start of the year made for unnatural progress in this third year of JuniorGP. How to train the mental aspect to stay strong and make the most of the rest of the season.
Of course, the team is first and foremost for me. Because they helped me a lot, every step, every challenge. We have been through all situations from the best to the worst. So, the team encouraged me to stay strong together.
After three seasons in JuniorGP, it’s time to take a break and return to Indonesia to look for new opportunities. What does it mean to you to live, grow and compete in Europe for three years? How has your racing style developed?
I had a good experience that not many racers get to experience. Even though my riding style is not perfect, I know how people work to be the best in the world.
How has Arbi, who came to Europe at the age of 16, changed from now, who returned to his home country armed with experience and maturity?
During 3 years in Europe, independence taught me many things ranging from time, discipline, and self-confidence. Definitely very different from the old me.
What does the Junior Talent Team mean to you and what have you gained from all your experiences with them?
They are not just a team, but also family and brothers. They helped me a lot from the start, so I learned a lot with them.
What does the future hold for Arbi Aditama?
I believe in Astra Honda wherever it is, and in whatever category I will continue to strive to return to my best performance and, of course, chase my dreams.
After the last season in Europe, it was perhaps the most difficult for Arbi to return home to find the best version of himself and try his luck in a class that is bigger and suits his characteristics as a rider. (dpid/TH)
