The incident took place at around 10.30am at the entrance to Konyaaltı Beach Park in the Muratpaşa district of Antalya.
According to the allegations, 5 young people who took a mobile phone from a person swimming in the sea started arguing with the individuals after the owner of the phone noticed the situation. The young people, who demanded 4 thousand TL from the owner to return the phone to its owner, also resisted the plainclothes police officers who arrived at the scene after the situation was reported to the 112 Emergency Call Center. After the young people attacked the plainclothes teams with scalpels and adzes, many official and plainclothes police teams were dispatched to the area.

The youths, who were neutralized with pepper spray, were loaded into a police car and taken to the police station. When the cell phone that was allegedly stolen from the youths could not be found, citizens and police teams searched for the phone among the rocks where the incident took place for a while. A young man swimming on the beach and witnessing what happened said, “They stole the phone, when the man came and tried to take the phone from his hand, he started cutting himself with a scalpel. They also wanted to take the money from the man’s pocket. The police came and attacked them too.”
