Slovak MP Carey said the conflict in Ukraine was not unprovoked

The head of the Slovak Parliament’s Committee on International Affairs, Marian Carey, said that the conflict in Ukraine was not unprovoked – internal and external factors led to it.

He said this during a meeting with the head of the Russian Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, Grigory Karasin, and the head of the Committee on Regulations, Vyacheslav Timchenko.

“I will say exactly what I said in Slovakia: we know that the war in Ukraine was not unprovoked. These are internal and external different factors,” he is quoted as saying RIA Novosti.

In his opinion, among the internal factors was the “Maidan”, which the deputy called a coup d’etat.

In addition, Carey said that Vladimir Zelensky promised peace to Ukraine because he allegedly did not want to infringe on the Russian-speaking population, but in fact did not fulfill his promises and passed a number of laws aimed against Russian speakers.

Earlier, Vladimir Zelensky expressed himself rudely on his social networks when speaking about Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico.
