Big crisis in France! Secret nuclear submarine program leaked to public

According to Le Monde, the “fitness” application called Strava, which was previously used by the bodyguards of world leaders and allowed the location information of the bodyguards accompanying politicians during business trips to be monitored over the internet and was claimed to create a security vulnerability, was used by France’s secret nuclear submarine patrol. He also made his program available to the public.

Sports activities on the Strava application of submarine crews and military personnel operating at the base on Longue Island in the Port of Brest, France, showed when nuclear submarine patrols were carried out.

IT WAS OBSERVED THAT THEY DID NOT ATTEND ANY SPORTS EVENT

Within the scope of Le Monde’s research, it was observed that the crew entered the data into the Strava application, did sports intensively around the base, and then did not enter any sports activities into the application for approximately 2 months.

It was noted that the periods when the crew was not active in practice coincided with the times when they were on patrol.

Base officials reported that security checks on the Strava application are ongoing and users may be subject to sanctions.

STORED IN SPECIAL CABINETS

While the security of the base is ensured by land, sea and drone patrols, more than 2 thousand people, including crew and officers, are subjected to facial recognition and identification checks when entering the base. Employees’ mobile phones and electronic devices are stored in special lockers on base.

Previously, Le Monde had revealed that some of the guards of Emmanuel Macron, Joe Biden and Vladimir Putin could monitor their movements over the internet, including their business trips, through the sports application called Strava, which they used.

It was noted that the profiles of the application users were public and that the majority of the application data was determined by geographical location, and that the use of this application by officials who guarded prominent heads of state created a security vulnerability on an “unprecedented scale”.
