According to a new rumor, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim will have to wait a while. The release would not take place until May.
’Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim release pas in mei’
The Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event will take place on January 22, but it does not appear that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim will be released immediately. The device, which should be distinguished by a very thin casing, may not see the light of day until May. This is stated by a user on the Chinese social network Weibo.
Because the source is rather unknown, we take the news with a grain of salt. It is also possible that Samsung will briefly show the S25 Slim during the event, and only reveal it fully later. In a teaser (see above) that the company recently shared, the corners of four smartphones can be seen.
What we know about the S25 Slim
Of unique selling point of the S25 Slim is logically the thickness of the smartphone. According to rumors, the phone is between 6 and 7 millimeters thin, making it much slimmer than most current Android devices. For comparison: the brand new OnePlus 13 and 13R are 8 millimeters or thicker.
Despite the thin casing, a large battery of around 5000 mAh would fit in the Galaxy S25 Slim. It is probably a so-called silicon-carbon battery. It has a very high energy density. This means you can fit quite a lot of capacity into a thin battery. The screen is said to be about 6.6 inches, which is comparable to the S25 Plus.
Furthermore, the Slim would have a real 200 megapixel main camera, 50 megapixel wide-angle lens and 50 megapixel telephoto lens. The latter allows you to optically zoom in 3.5x without loss of quality. This brings the camera setup of the S25 Slim closer to that of the current S24 Ultra than the normal S24s.
