(Seoul = Newsis) Reporter Jo Soo-won = The noir play ‘Capone Trilogy’ returns after 7 years.
It will be performed on the stage of the small theater at the Daehakro Art Center in Hongik University, Jongno-gu, Seoul from March 11th to June 1st. According to I.M. Culture, the performance production company, this performance was a collaboration between the best creative staff, including director Kim Tae-hyung and writer Ji I-seon, who led the premiere to a box office success.
The play ‘Capone Trilogy’ was the biggest hit at the 2014 Edinburgh Fringe, and is a long-selling work that sold out all tickets for its domestic premiere in 2015.
It has been a hot topic since its premiere in 2015, with each of the three works unfolding separately, based on three performances a day. Since it is conducted in the form of three omnibus performances within one work, the actor only has three characters in three works. Each actor is given roles divided into Old Man, Young Man, and Lady.
The cast includes Lee Seok-jun, Jeong Seong-il, and Kim Joo-heon as ‘Old Man’, Kim Do-bin, Choi Ho-seung, and Choi Jeong-woo as ‘Young Man’, and Lim Kang-hee, Jeong Woo-yeon, and Kim Ju-yeon as ‘Lady’.
The play ‘Capone Trilogy’ is set in room 661 of the Lexington Hotel in Chicago, USA, where three murders occurred about 10 years apart from 1923 to 1943. The story of the infamous mafia ‘Al Capone’ is told in three omnibus formats: ‘Loki’, ‘Lucifer’, and ‘Vindich’. Preview tickets will open at 2pm on the 22nd.
