After several transfers to Steam, the early access of the cooperative action roguelike Hyper Light Breaker from the American studio Heart Machine and the publishing house Arc Games has finally started. The game’s debut didn’t go well.

The events of Hyper Light Breaker take place in the universe of the 2016 pixel action Hyper Light Drifter, namely in the procedurally generated open world of the Thickets (a new territory in the Hyper Light franchise).
In the role of the doomed, players (alone or with friends) will have to explore large-scale biomes (including on a hoverboard), defeat hordes of monsters and ultimately overthrow the powerful king of the Abyss.
If you purchase Hyper Light Breaker before January 28, the game comes with Hyper Light Drifter (for those who don’t already have it)
The cost of Hyper Light Breaker at the start of Steam Early Access (the price is expected to rise in the future) is 2,120 rubles, but taking into account a 10 percent discount until January 21, the game is sold for 1,908 rubles. There is a text translation into Russian.
Hyper Light Breaker launched with “mostly negative” reviews (30%) – users complain about a lack of settings (including graphics), unresponsive controls and performance. The developers are already aware of the problems.
After solving the immediate problems, the team plans to add new playable characters, bosses, equipment and story content, as well as improve and expand the gameplay through patches and major updates.
The developers of Hyper Light Breaker are going to develop the game together with the community. A full release is expected in early 2026, but depending on feedback, “everything could change.”
