Ex-alpine skier Kalle Palander and Riina-Maija Palander are different. Kalle Palaner is filing for divorce from his wife Riina-Maija Palander. The matter will be resolved by the district court of Espoo, he says Stop.
Kalle and Riina-Maija got married in 2007, and they have three children together. When they got married, they also made a prenuptial agreement.
Kalle and Riina-Maija are both registered in Estonia, where they run a joint company.
According to Seiska, based on social media, Kalle has recently been enjoying herself with her friend in Finland, while Riina-Maija has been spending time in Spain.
Kalle filed for divorce alone on January 7, 2025.

“The life of a top athlete’s spouse is strongly associated with prejudice. I didn’t think that his status would affect me in any way. Of course, it affected everything and how people viewed me very negatively. It was thought that I live on someone else’s money or that I don’t do anything. Then they were considered beautiful, but stupid. I was met with everything I could not even imagine. I had never experienced that people were so prejudiced and negative about me,” Riina-Maija Palander tells about her life as Kalle Palander’s wife in the Kaksoiselämää podcast.
The amazingly gorgeous Riina-Maija Palander is the kind of person you want to be.
Nasty comments and feedback greatly affected Riina-Maija’s self-esteem.
“It eroded my self-esteem, and I became a silent snob. I was at home for ten years without going out even to a bar for a single drink. I felt that I’m nothing and I can’t do anything because I’m with a certain person. Yes, I got really depressed. I was a complete ghost of what I had been before. I didn’t even keep in touch with friends or even family members, I was at home with the children,” Riina-Maija continues in the podcast.
Moving to Spain saved Riina-Maija from depression and made her appreciate herself again.
“The role model was my old childhood friend, who called me and said he was worried about me when I hadn’t kept in touch with people. He said something had to be done now and at that point I realized I had to save myself. It was a big process, but I decided that I would save myself. One aspect of it was that I moved here to Spain with the children,” Riina-Maija continues in the Kaksoiselämää podcast.
