Operation for the release of 3 people in the village of Zeriki

An operation to free three people from a hostel was set up on Tuesday afternoon (14/1) in the village of Zeriki in Helikon by the forces of the Livadia Fire Service and also by volunteer groups in the area.

The village, as can be seen in the images published by the permissos.gr website, is dressed in white and the height of the snow exceeded 70 points.

A little while ago, the firefighters together with the volunteers, with the help of the Municipality’s earthmoving machine, managed to approach the hostel where the trapped people are.

According to information, they were in the hostel for the last few days and were blocked by the snow. In fact, there has been a power outage since yesterday. This afternoon, they contacted 112 and asked for help to extricate themselves.

In addition to the forces of the Fire Service, the volunteer group of Livadeia also participated in the operation, but they also needed earthmoving machines from the Municipality to be able to approach them.

Shortly before 7:30 in the evening they were located in good health, boarded the earthmoving machine to be able to reach a safe place and then be transported by Fire Service vehicles to Livadia.
