T-Mobile USA buys OOH specialist Vistar Media

The American branch of T-Mobile is making a surprising acquisition with Vistar Media, because the telecom company is broadening its interest to the domain of outdoor advertising.

T-Mobile announced the takeover on yesterday. The transaction provides a growth impetus to the department Advertising Solutions.

In America, the telecom company does more than rent out access to telecom and data lines. It also offers companies the opportunity to rent a place in the media that crosses those lines. It places advertising on digital TV, on the web, in apps and on outdoor advertising screens.

Advertising Solutions operates a marketplace for buying, selling and managing media campaigns across a global network of more than 1.1 million digital screens, served by nearly 370 OOH media owners, serving more than three thousand brand partner advertisers.

The thirteen year old View Media will cost T-Mobile six hundred million dollars in cash.

In the Netherlands, Vistar Media purchased local outdoor screen specialist Sage+Archer in the spring of 2024. That is part of his European growth plans.
