Clint Eastwood has made several memorable classic films during his career. 1977’s The Gauntlet is not one of them.
In The Gauntlet, or Luotikuja, Clint Eastwood’s drunk veteran Ben Shockley is sent to Las Vegas to get a witness for the trial, but he quickly realizes that everyone wants the duo dead.
No one can be trusted, and soon a bullet-riddled race to the Phoenix courthouse begins.
Many people have already forgotten Luotikuja, Clint Eastwood’s “intermediate work”, which once attracted less than 70,000 viewers in Finland. However, soon the film may be very relevant again, because Tom Cruise might make a new version of it with Scarlett Johansson.
