Price check
The Pixel 7 is currently available in the Aldi online shop with a whopping discount of up to 40 percent. But is the offer worth it? We’ll do the check.
Aldi is known for offering smartphones at reasonable prices from time to time. These are often entry-level devices such as the Galaxy A25 or the Xiaomi Redmi 14 C. However, every now and then the discounter also offers better-equipped devices at attractive prices in its online shop.
Currently, for example, that would be Google’s Pixel 7. The smartphone dates back to 2022 and is therefore no longer a cutting-edge device. If you take a look at the software, you will also notice that the update guarantee for the Pixel 7 only lasts until 2027. The equipment is still solid.
Pixel 7 at Aldi: Solid features at a good price
The Pixel 7 offers a 6.3-inch display with a refresh rate of 90 Hz. Google’s Tensor G2 is used as the processor. The battery has a capacity of 4,355 mAh and was able to score points in our test with an outstanding runtime. The camera setup is also not bad with a 50 MP main camera and a 12 MP ultra wide-angle camera. 5G and NFC support are also on board.
This is available at Aldi Pixel 7 with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage for 339 euros. If that’s not enough, you get it 256 GB for 449 euros. This corresponds to a saving of 40 percent compared to the RRP. Sounds like a lot and it is: A look at a common price comparison tool like idelao confirms that the offer is by no means to be despised.
If you prefer a more current device, you could alternatively take a look at the Pixel 8 from 2023: this is available in the basic configuration starting at just 485 euros. Since the Pixel 8, Google has offered a seven-year guarantee for software updates.
Aldi offer for the Pixel 7: top or flop?
The Pixel 7 offers solid features at an attractive price. Despite its age and somewhat outdated hardware, the smartphone is still an interesting option thanks to 5G and NFC support as well as good camera equipment. Overall, Aldi offers a good offer for price-conscious buyers. However, if you value newer functions and longer software updates, the Pixel 8 could be a better choice.
