CES 2025: mini PC Snapdragon X Elite-tel

The 12-core solution for notebooks found a home in the Geekom QS1 and offers Copilot+ functions.

At Geekom’s stand, we came across the QS1, which the company claims is the first mini PC in the world based on Snapdragon X Elite. The 115 x 115 x 35 mm machine house is powered by a 12-core X1E-80-100 version of Qualcomm’s processor, with up to 64 GB of RAM, depending on the configuration. Two M.2 2280 sockets await SSDs, one with PCIe 4.0 x4 and the other with PCIe 4.0 x2 interface.

The supply of connectors is quite good, there are three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A and one USB 2.0 interface, as well as a USB 4 Type-C, HDMI, DisplayPort, analog audio, SD card reader and RJ45 port. The latter offers 2.5 GbE speed, the wireless network adapters are compatible with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.

Another interesting feature of the system is that a fingerprint reader is hidden in its power button, which, in addition to starting the machine, also identifies the user. The QS1 may go on sale in the coming months, but its price is not yet known.
