Every year, Apple publishes special material celebrating Chinese New Year on its official YouTube channel. It comes from the Shot on iPhone series.
Film Made a Mixtape for You tells the story of Wei, who, after returning home to celebrate Chinese New Year, discovers his parents’ cassette of 90s hits, which takes him back to those years. During the journey, he falls in love with a stranger, and after waking up, he regained his faith in love.
The channel also published material showing how the photos for this film were taken. The whole thing was supervised by director Michael Gracey.
