Already available in China for several months, the Honor Magic 7 Pro is coming to France. This premium smartphone, which we have already been able to take in hand, boasts a high-end experience emphasizing artificial intelligence. Like its rivals Apple and Samsung, Honor wants to take a step forward in terms of AI in 2025 and equips its flagship with AI features in all areas. The Magic 7 Pro has everything of a technological jewel on a technical level and inaugurates a new design. If it takes some of the bases of its predecessors, the smartphone is flatter at the front and back and offers less rounded edges. These adjustments should help the device assert its style and make it more pleasant to hold.

The Honor Magic 7 Pro benefits from a double IP68/IP69 certification which allows it to guarantee a certain robustness in difficult conditions. It has a 6.8-inch OLED screen displaying a definition of 2,800 x 1,280 pixels. LTPO technology is present to offer an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. The brightness increases up to 5,000 nits and the panel supports Dolby Vision.
Power to spare
Under the hood, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite confirms its status as the flagship chip for high-end Android smartphones at the start of the year. It comes with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage, not forgetting Honor’s RAM Turbo function to virtually add up to an additional 12 GB of RAM. The smartphone focuses heavily on photography, as evidenced by its imposing circular photo block at the back.
It includes a 50MP Falcon Super Dynamic main sensor with variable aperture (f/1.4 to f/2.0) and optical stabilization (OIS). To support it, Honor further improves its periscopic telephoto lens by increasing to 200 Mpx (f/2.6) with a x3 optical zoom and the promise of a zoom without loss of x6 quality. Equipped with the AI Super Zoom function, it allows you to claim a digital zoom of up to 100x. Finally, a 50 Mpx ultra-wide-angle sensor (f/2.0) completes the photo component.
A promising photo configuration, totally focused on AI
At the heart of the firm’s concerns, the photo experience looks promising with several features optimized by AI (portrait, telephoto, motion capture, etc.). Honor also mentions the integration of the HONOR IMAGE ENGINE AI, a hybrid system combining local and cloud AI.
This smartphone, like the Honor 200, is also entitled to Harcourt portrait mode with three different filters, including black and white. On the front of the smartphone, we still find a duo of sensors with a 50 Mpx selfie camera (f/2.0) and a 3D TOF sensor.
To power this powerful configuration, there is a 5,270 mAh battery compatible with 100 W wired and 80 W wireless charging. It claims a full charge in 33 minutes while a chip called E2 optimizes energy management.
The Magic 7 Pro runs Android 15 with the MagicOS 9.0 overlay and Honor announces 5 years of Android updates, as well as 6 years of security patches. The interface integrates AI with options like Magic Portal 2.0 which gives the possibility of surrounding any object on the screen and activates text and image recognition. It then offers access to services in compatible applications (social networks, entertainment, productivity, etc.).
AI manifests itself in essential applications like Notes which inherits an automatic translation function. Still in Notes, there is a summary function with IA or Minutes to extract key information. Finally, Gemini is present and opens the door to Google services and the American giant’s AI extensions.
Price and availability
Honor informs that the Magic 7 Pro will be available from January 15, 2025, starting at 1,299.90 euros. It comes in Lunar Shadow Gray and Black. It joins the Magic7 Lite, a much more accessible version that we have already been able to test.
