“The proposal is the highest honor for me” said Konstantinos Tasoulas from the floor of the Parliament after the message of the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis about the Presidency of the Republic.
“The proposal of the President of New Democracy and Prime Minister Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis for the office of the President of the Republic is for me a top honor as well as a responsibility, as we have already entered into persistently turbulent and uncertain times, we see this close to us and in the wider world” emphasized Konstantinos Tasoulas.
He added that “the safeguarding of our national unity and the harmonious operation of the powers of the State are becoming even more valuable conditions for the stability and advancement of the country. And these very conditions, the unity and harmonious functioning of the institutions, are mainly related to the mission that the Constitution assigns to the President of the Republic. That is why the oath he takes here in the National Parliament includes these, but also the defense of our national sovereignty and the rights of the Greeks. But now the National Delegation has the floor. You. That is why, as Speaker of the Parliament, I immediately set in motion the procedures for the election of the President of the Republic, with the first date of roll-call voting on Saturday, January 25”.
