ChatGPT has added a useful new feature and this is just the beginning –

With this development, the way can be opened to a host of new possibilities.

With ChatGPT, OpenAI has found a hen that lays the golden egg, but the company is not resting on its laurels, and they are constantly looking for new ways to bring the AI tool to even more people.

The company has now taken a big step towards making their artificial intelligence more a part of our lives. They introduced the “tasks” function, with which the built-in AI assistant helps us organize our tasks.

Tasks are already included in the paid version of the application, i.e. ChatGPT Plus, Team and Pro users can access them. This function is similar to what other companies’ digital assistants have done so far, i.e. it is able to schedule warnings and reminders, but it also copes with slightly more complex tasks.

With the help of the assistant, we can ask ChatGPT to, for example, prepare a summary of the previous day’s news at 7 a.m. or compile a weekend program list for us every Friday, taking into account where we are and what the weather is like. After that, at the requested time, we will receive a push notification on the interface where we have enabled the task function.

The head of OpenAI, Sam Altman, said that 2025 will be the year of “AI agents” that will be able to work somewhat independently, and tasks are the first step in that direction. With the appearance of this function, ChatGPT will be able to browse the net, but only to a very limited extent. The artificial intelligence does not have continuous access to the Internet, it can only access it when and only when a user requests it.

In practice, it looks like we can ask ChatGPT to go online at 6pm on the first day of every month and see what tickets are available for our favorite band’s concerts, but we can’t set it to constantly monitor, whether ticket sales have opened somewhere or to buy tickets for the concert as soon as you can.

OpenAI says that it will now be a beta period for the feature to assess how users use the personal assistant, and after the data comes in, it will expand its functionality and make it available in the free version.
