Opera is updating its iOS app and adding features that are worth using – especially if you like artificial intelligence in your browser.
Aria appeared in Opera in May 2023 – first on computers with Windows, macOS and Linux, and on mobile devices with Android. A few months later, artificial intelligence in the browser came to iPhones and since then it has been gradually developed, and with each new version of the application (not only for smartphones) users receive interesting solutions that make it easier to browse the web and manage what they find there.
Last year, we reported that Opera had gained access to Google Cloud’s Gemini models within Aria. AI solutions provided by Google are intended to enable image generation and text-to-voice functions. All this became possible thanks to closer cooperation between companies and the integration of advanced Google models. Aria already uses Opera’s Multi-LLM Composer AI engine, which enables the Norwegian company to create “the best experiences tailored to user needs.”
What’s unique about Opera’s artificial intelligence is that it’s not limited to one vendor or one language model. The Composer AI engine analyzes user intentions and selects the appropriate model for a specific task. Opera is constantly developing Aria with new possibilities, and this is one of them Tab Commands. The function allows you to manage tabs via chat with Aria, the artificial intelligence built into the browser. This feature allows you to close, group and pin tabs using commands issued at the browser’s command line. As the browser creators argue, Tab Commands This innovative combination of key browser elements, such as bookmarks, tabs and artificial intelligence, offers more than just a standard chat with an AI module. This gives Aria the ability to perform tasks in the browser, making it an even more effective tool for increasing user productivity.
AI in the iPhone browser at your fingertips. All you need is Opera
The new features are also available in the iOS version of the browser, which got a new look a few months ago. With the 5.0 update, the application has undergone a major refresh and changes in the interface, which is similar to what its users experience on PC and Mac computers. This move is intended to ensure that users have the same experience when using the application on different platforms. Now there is another update that makes it easier to use Opera and Aria even when we don’t have a browser open. And all thanks to widgets. They let you create convenient shortcuts right on your iPhone’s home screen, so you can access your most important features with just one click.
More importantly, Opera has decided to make Aria available to all Opera on iOS users – including those who do not use a dedicated browser account. As part of the latest update available on the App Store, access to all Aria features will be unlocked, except Generate imageswhich is limited to five images per day for users without an account. This increases to 30 images per day if you log in, and you’ll also get additional Aria benefits like the ability to save your chat history.
