The State Duma adopted in the first reading a bill to protect citizens from scammers who force them to take out loans. This was announced by the speaker of the lower house of parliament Vyacheslav Volodin.
He emphasized that it is important to protect people from the actions of scammers and protect them from financial losses.
“In this connection, it is proposed to establish a “cooling period” when issuing borrowed funds, during which financial transactions will not be carried out,” he wrote in his Telegram channel.
So, to take an amount from 50 thousand to 200 thousand rubles, the “cooling period” will be four hours. For issuing loans from 200 thousand rubles – 48 hours. According to Volodin, during this time citizens will be able to assess their solvency and the need for a loan.
Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs warned that fraudsters began to actively use online trading platforms to steal funds.
