The European Statistical Office (Eurostat) announced the seasonally adjusted industrial production data of the European Union (EU) and the Euro Zone for November 2024.
Accordingly, industrial production in the Eurozone increased by 0.2 percent in November compared to October. However, it decreased by 1.9 percent compared to the same period in the previous year.
Market expectations were that Eurozone industrial production would increase by 0.3 percent monthly and decrease by 1.9 percent annually.
Countries with the highest industrial production
In the EU, industrial production increased by 0.1 percent on a monthly basis in November and decreased by 1.7 percent on an annual basis. The highest monthly increase in industrial production among EU countries in November was in Belgium with 8.7 percent, Malta with 7.1 percent and Lithuania with 4.3 percent.
The biggest decrease was in Ireland with 5.8 percent, Luxembourg with 3.9 percent and Portugal with 3.4 percent.
The highest increase on an annual basis
The highest increase in industrial production on an annual basis was determined in Malta with 13.5 percent, Belgium with 8.7 percent and Greece with 4.8 percent.
The biggest decrease was measured in Croatia with 6.6 percent, Ireland with 5.6 percent and Austria with 5 percent.
